During the Mana Tomb run we had an extended discussion around the Indy movies. Syn brought up the fact that a lot of the stuff in the instance had a similar feel to the final scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark where the Nazis open up the Ark. We all then proposed what we thought the moral of the story was.

Epic loot, of course.
Clearly Raiders of the Lost Ark is a parallel of the Gurubashi arena in STV... You battle brother against brother to possess the chest, and once you have the appropriately skilled rogue (which the Nazi's did) you were able to open the chest and obtain a trinket of maximum "face melting" pwnage.
They should've worn their holy resist gear before equiping it, though. Other than that, they were golden.
